The Torpoint Boatyard and Marina redevelopment project seeks to transform an existing site that currently accommodates dry land storage for approximately 100 boats. This ambitious proposal includes two distinct buildings that enhance both the functionality of the marina and the local community's experience.
The first building will replace temporary containers currently used for toilets, showers, and storage facilities, as well as an on-site café located near the entrance. This multi-purpose structure will provide modern amenities, featuring a café, restrooms, and shower facilities, along with offices on the first floor. By replacing these temporary installations with a well-designed, permanent building, we aim to improve the visual and practical aspects of the boatyard, creating a more inviting and efficient environment for users.
The second component of the redevelopment is a proposed residential block of apartments situated in the northwest corner of the boatyard. This strategically located apartment block will not only offer magnificent river views on one side and scenic vistas over the adjacent football pitch on the other but also financially support the marina's improvement efforts. The positioning of the apartments ensures ample distance from neighbouring properties, effectively addressing any privacy or overlooking concerns.
This redevelopment is an exciting opportunity to uplift the quality of facilities, reinforcing its role as a vibrant hub for both recreational boating and community engagement in the area.
