BRL has been appointed to design a mixed-use development at the junction of Uxbridge Road and Wharncliffe Drive in Southall. The scheme proposes a three-storey brick-clad building with an additional recessed fourth storey, designed in a contrasting material to create a visually dynamic architectural profile.

The development comprises 9 new residential apartments, including one, two, and three-bedroom units. The ground floor is allocated for commercial use, with the residential accommodation located on the upper floors. The building layout has been carefully recessed to align with the building lines of adjoining properties, ensuring a respectful relationship with the surrounding context.

Given the site's prime location, the design embraces a car-free approach. However, three parking spaces have been provided to the rear of the building, which can be allocated flexibly between residential and commercial use. Additionally, the scheme includes cycle storage designed to meet local council standards, encouraging sustainable transport options.

This project represents a considered response to urban living, balancing practical functionality with contemporary design to enhance the local streetscape and provide high-quality accommodation.
