We were approached by previous clients to design an extension for the Quba Masjid & Education Centre, a community hub serving the Islamic community in Hayes, London, since its completion in 2016. As demand for services has grown, the extension will provide flexible multi-use spaces, enhancing leisure amenities and accessibility.
The design focuses on meeting community needs, particularly for youth, by creating safe and engaging areas for after-school activities. The extension seamlessly integrates with the existing building, featuring white render, natural stone tiles, and decorative aluminium panels, with cascading forms and geometric patterns adding visual interest.
We’re proud that our design won the public vote and narrowly missed out on first place, securing second place in the Best Future Design category at the Beacon Mosque Awards 2024!
