Situated along the River Tamar, this derelict site originally had planning permission for five individual dwellings, but we believed this approach did not fully realise the site's potential.
The client sought to maximise the land’s value, particularly its stunning riverside views. Drawing architectural inspiration from the traditional boathouse vernacular, our design proposal seamlessly integrates into the natural riverside setting.
Due to the sloped terrain, we designed a five-storey building facing the river, which transitions to a three-storey elevation at the rear, aligning with the scale of surrounding structures. The development includes 16 apartments, offering a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom units, with duplex apartments on the top floor. Spacious balconies have been incorporated to ensure residents can fully enjoy the spectacular views.
